About Me


I'm Antonia. I started this site because I decided I wanted to extend my experiences with food - to share with others who may be inspired by it all. I chose the name, Savory Saturdays, because Saturdays are the one day of the week that I really make the time to indulge in the kitchen - despite my best of intentions some other days.

I adore food, the experience of eating - at home, and in great restaurants - and the adventure of cooking. I dislike baking. But I'm working on it. Also, I've been known to burn things because I'm busy trying to clean-up between cooking steps. I'm working on that too.

My food influences have been shaped by a number of different experiences: living in three countries, my European parents & relatives, travel & new cultures, and more recently a beginners understanding of southern and Cajun cuisine (thanks to my husband). And I love trying new things.
